Benefits of Membership

Business Building Workshops. Business experts offer insights on topics of interest for businesses such as: sales and marketing, customer service, web site development and usage, human resource issues, government initiatives effecting business.

Member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The PBA joins the Rochester Business Alliance and Greece Chamber of Commerce as the only three business associations/chambers within Monroe County affiliated with the U.S.  Chamber of Commerce. PBA members have access to national resources including 75 small business toolkits, select discounts, and numerous guides and publications developed for small businesses.

PBA/RBA Partnership. Get connected to businesses outside of Penfield through our partnership with the Rochester Business Alliance. PBA members can attend selected RBA events at greatly reduced prices ($15 vs. $50).

Group Health, dental and vision insurance. Members have access to health, dental, vision and additional insurance products through our partnership with Bene-Care. Bene-Care will provide PBA members with advisory services as well as enrollment and administration support.

Member-To-Member Discount Program. Reach new customers, increase traffic and build business through this program designed to build alliances among member businesses.

Staples Advantage Program. PBA members receive a 10%-15% cost savings along with ordering convenience through a dedicated Staples Advantage web site.

Increased visibility for your business. Gain greater exposure through your listing in our online member directory, include an article of business interest or an announcement in The Business Wire, our monthly Enewsletter distributed to over 240 local decision makers and host a networking event, open house or activity

Networking. Connect with business leaders at one of our after-hours networking events and at one of our monthly Lunch Bunch activities at a local PBA member restaurant.

Town Liaison Committee. This advocacy group includes members of the PBA, Penfield’s Town Supervisor and Director of Economic Development. The committee meets monthly to discuss economic development in Penfield and any specific issues concerning members of the PBA.

Business of the Month program. Each month a PBA business member is selected as the “Business of the Month. The business selected is promoted and advertised on the PBA Web site, local newspaper and a sign is displayed at their place of business noting they are the PBA business of the month.

Business of the Year and Daniel Penfield Awards. These annual awards celebrate the best of the area’s business community. Finalists and winners are recognized at an annual dinner in the fall.

Community Connections. The PBA is the sponsor of the Penfield In Bloom program – 12 public gardens throughout Penfield, a supporter of community activities including Penfield’s Bicentennial Celebration, Independence Day parade, Penfield Community Festival, and the Shepherd Home Annual Fundraising Gala. The PBA is a proud member of Unshackle Upstate and the Penfield Rotary.

Penfield Pride Award. Awarded annually to a business showing outstanding property improvements.
