 Business Segment Spotlight

The PBA is dedicated to encouraging the support of local business, the construction of PBA member alliances, and the transaction of mutually beneficial business and sponsorship between PBA members. With this in mind, we will be featuring a monthly spotlight on a business segment of which PBA members belong. These spotlighted members will be able to explain in detail exactly what it is that they do, what products/services/solutions they provide, and why it is important for the rest of us to do business with them. This will hopefully educate the membership on some of our more mysterious members and generate a greater amount of internal business for us all.

Cardiac Life Products, Inc.
Cardiac Life Products, Inc.

Heart disease kills at least 350,000 US citizens each year.  Sudden Cardiac Arrest often has no prior symptoms and is exactly as the name describes.  Victims range from very young to very old, but the most common group to suffer SCA are between the ages of 40 and 65 years of age.  The only known treatment for SCA is early defibrillation with an Automated External Defibrillator.

Cardiac Life Products, Inc. is in the business of saving lives affected by SCA.  The premier supplier of Automated External Defibrillators in New York State, CLP was started 9 years ago by Mary Wynne, after a successful career selling open heart equipment to hospitals in the North East.  In 2002 and 2003 Mary worked with primary schools across New York State setting up their public access defibrillation (PAD) programs in response to a 2002 law which required all public schools to have defibrillators available to students, staff and visitors.  Over 30 successful rescues have resulted since the passage of that law, notably one in our neighboring town of Webster during a swim meet just after the law passed, and most recently at Gates Chili CSD.   In 2005, Cardiac Life was awarded the contract to supply AEDs to the Office of General Services and has placed AEDs in most State buildings as well as all SUNY campuses throughout the state.  Cardiac Life Products is an AHA training center and offers many training classes which support the use of defibrillators and workplace safety.  To meet the changing needs in industry and business today, many training courses are supported through e-learning with on-site skills tests.

Most recently, Cardiac Life Products has begun offering on-site Program Management for PAD sites and AED rentals for short term use by seasonal camps or travelers wanting to assure that they will have treatment available for a possible Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

When someone suffers a Sudden Cardiac Arrest, their chance of survival drops by 10% for every minute they are unconscious.    Early intervention can assure a successful rescue.   Call Mary Wynne today at 267-7895 to talk about making your business, camp or home Heart Safe with a defibrillator on site.  She has the right program and products to make this happen.  You can also visit Cardiac Life at www.nysaed.com.

Eastside Medical Urgent Care
Eastside Medical Urgent Care

On May 5th 2010 Eastside Medical Urgent Care will begin our 7th year of serving Penfield and the Rochester area communities.  We would like to thank everyone for embracing us and for being such a huge factor in our success as the first urgent care in the area.

We opened our practice on May 5, 2003 in a small 4 exam room office located on Route 250, just north of the 441 intersection.  Although this space served us well at the time, we rapidly outgrew the small office and parking facilities.  It became apparent that in order to best serve the community, we needed a larger space.

By 2007 we had purchased the property at 2226 Penfield Road, commonly known as The Hospitality Party House.  On this site we built our current 6,000 sq. ft. urgent care, which opened in March of 2008.

We now utilize 10 exam rooms, a spacious waiting room with patient bathrooms, a children’s play area, a wide screen cable television, and have upgraded to digital X-Ray and electronic medical records.  We have expanded our hours and added staff to quickly respond to the needs of the community.

Eastside Medical Urgent Care

At Eastside Medical Urgent Care we treat patients for minor illness and injuries.  Some examples of our common treatments are; sore throats, cough, chest congestion, nasal and sinus congestion, ear aches, headaches, body aches, rash, pink eye, painful urination, asthma attacks, minor burns, animal and insect bites, cuts – we do stitches if needed, sprains, and fractures.

Our patient visit hours are weekdays 11:00 am – 11:00 pm, weekends and major holidays 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.  No appointment is needed, we provide walk-in-care.

We are the only urgent care in the Rochester area accredited by AAUCM (American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine), and we are members of the PBA & Rochester Business Administration.

Eastside Medical Urgent Care isn’t here just for medical conditions, as we also support the community by taking part in and sponsoring events, supporting youth activities, supporting several charities, and volunteering for patient educational programs.  We are not just in the community; we are part of the community.

At Eastside Medical Urgent Care we pride ourselves in having professional, experienced and well trained staff; and want the community to know our number one goal is the satisfaction of our patients and families.  We are here when you need us.
