  • Battle of the DJ's, Dec 14th at Bill Gray's Iceplex

    For the first time ever, our DJ students will battle it out this Saturday, December 14 from 11:00am-3:00pm at Bill Gray’s Iceplex located at 2700 Brighton Henrietta Townline Road. This amazing show will feature the best Beat Refinery student DJ's in a live competition. It will be a great afternoon of mixing, scratching, mashups and more. DJ students will determine which DJs will win various awards including Best Mix Execution, Best Stage Presence, Most Creative, Best Crowd Response, Best Technical Capability and Best Overall DJ. Several local DJ organizations have sponsored the event and provided volunteer judges: Jason Macool from DC Entertainment NY, David Pfluke from Sound Express Entertainment, Tim LaMoy & Mike Gray from Tones Entertainment, and Rich Post from Turner Music Production.  In addition to the DJ organizations, the following organizations have also sponsored this event:  House of Guitars, First Light, Family First of New York Credit Union, Allied Financial Partners, Don's Original Pub and Restaurant, Acute Kids Pediatric Urgent Care, Todd Fritz Inc., RDG+Partners CPAs PLLC, and Greater Rochester Painting & Home Improvement.

  •  The Penfield Symphony Orchestra Presents "Holiday Gifts" Concert - Dec 16

    The Penfield Symphony Orchestra will present “Holiday Gifts,” the second concert of its 64th season, sponsored by Canandaigua National Bank & Trust – Penfield Branch.  The concert will have a special local flavor, featuring Hanson’s Symphony No. 2 “Romantic,” and the well-known tenor soloist Harold McAulliffe singing the RPO Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik’s composition The Twelve Gifts of Christmas. Also on the program are classical masterpieces from Buxtehude and Vaughan Williams, a world-premiere holiday piece by local composer Matt Osika, as well as other seasonal pieces for Christmas and Hanukah.

    The concert will be held on December 16, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at the Penfield High School Auditorium, located at 25 High School Drive in Penfield, New York.    Tickets can be purchased online at www.penfieldsymphony.org, by phone at 585-872-0774, at all area Wegmans, the Penfield Recreation Department, Canandaigua National Bank (Penfield Branch), and at the door on the night of the concert.  Advance tickets cost $15 for adults ($16 at the door), and $12 for senior citizens 60 and over ($16 at the door).  For students of any age with a student ID, advance tickets are free or $1 at the door.

    As a community-minded local business, we are always looking for ways to collaborate and help other businesses thrive in our community.   • Fairport Savings Bank Welcomes James Bilotta
    Jim Bilotta has joined Fairport Savings Bank as Assistant Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager. His responsibilities will include acquiring new business relationships and commercial lending opportunities throughout the bank’s markets. Jim has 20 years’ experience in the financial industry, most recently as Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager with Lyons National Bank.
    “We’re pleased to have Jim join our commercial banking team. He has strong community ties and banking expertise that will be a great addition to the bank, as well as a valuable resource for our customers,” said Mike Giancursio, Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer.
    Jim is an active member of the Fairport-Perinton business community. He is President of the Fairport-Perinton Chamber of Commerce and a board member for the Village of Fairport Lift-Bridge Committee.

  • Penfield Democratic Committee Meets Fourth Tuesday

    The purpose of the Penfield Democratic Committee is to preserve and improve the quality of life for people in the town of Penfield and beyond, through the support and advancement of democratic values in our community.  The PDC generally meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Penfield Community Center.  See their website for their current schedule.



  • Penfield Republican Committee Meets Second Monday

    The Penfield Republican Committee is dedicated to good, local government for Penfield and supports the ideals of fiscal responsibility and sound values. Meetings are generally held the second Monday of each month at 7PM at the Town Hall Auditorium. See the PRC website for current schedule of meetings and events.
